Some people can just walk into a room and turn heads just by the way they smell. You automatically assume that it’s because of the amount of perfume they are wearing. But when you try the same, the result can be slightly frustrating. In fact, too much perfume can even trigger a headache.

So what are you doing wrong? It could be anything from the type of fragrance to the way you’ve been spraying it on. Not all perfumes suit everyone. Always remember that the first thing every perfume has a top note, heart note and a middle note. For example, Attar Al Sheila EDP starts off with a beautiful combination of violet blossom, honeysuckle and freesia and gradually melts into a mixture of magnolia, jasmine, iris and rose and finally ends with a soothing blend of vanilla, rosewood, patchouli and leather. Before you purchase a fragrance, it would be best if you test it and wait till all the notes kick in. You can decide if you want to buy it or not.

Now that you know how to purchase your perfume, the next step is to learn how to make the best use of it. Perfumes demand to be used in a certain way. To get it right, you need to know what you’ve been doing wrong.

Here’s a list of a few things that you could be doing wrong while spraying perfume:

1.Spraying your perfume on your clothes
Ever noticed water marks on your clothes? This happens when you spray the perfume directly onto your clothes. These watermarks can be visually unpleasant especially if you’re going out for a night out and are looking to create a good impression. The fragrance also doesn’t last for too long.

2.Letting the skin get wet from the spray
Does your skin get wet when you spray your perfume? If yes, you’re doing it wrong. The ideal distance you should maintain while spraying perfume on your body is 5-7 inches. Then again, if you hold it too far away from your body, you can end up wasting a lot of perfume.

    3.Spraying too much perfume
What you don’t want to do is to go overboard. The fragrance may suit you, but if you use too much of it, you might even cause discomfort to others. A little is good enough to create a good impact. A few spritzes in your pulse points are all you need for the fragrance to last.

    4.Apply attars differently
When you use attar, you need to dab it on your pulse points gently. These include the areas near your collar bone, the naval and a few other spots. Just applying it anywhere wouldn’t do the trick. Swiss Arabian’s Musk Malaki CPO can create a lasting fragrance and is one of our best sellers.

5.Know if your skin is reacting well to your perfume
Your skin can react differently to each scent. Give it a few hours and check if the smell still prevails and make sure that it isn’t reacting negatively to your skin.
