Most people have heard of ylang ylang. However, if you were asked to describe what it looked like, you might struggle! Ylang ylang perfume is a much-loved scent… but how much do you really know about this popular ingredient?

With that in mind, here’s some insight into this fragrant plant, and how it’s used in perfume today.

YLANG-YLANG PERFUME – WHAT IS IT?

Perfume with ylang ylang is common across the world. The ylang ylang is a type of tree, which grows in tropical regions in Asia, Africa and South America. It produces pretty yellow flowers, which are used to produce the oil that goes into fragrance-making.

This is nothing new, of course. People have been using ylang-ylang perfume for years. Records show that it was used as a pomade by Molucca Islanders, way back in the 1800s, and women in Malaysia and Indonesia used to conceal the flowers in their hair, to make it smell fragrant.

Ylang-ylang is also much prized in aromatherapy, as a relaxing, soothing essential oil. Bear that in mind whenever you next spray on some ylang ylang cologne, folks!

    WHICH YLANG YLANG FRAGRANCE?

This ingredient can often be found in exotic, sensual perfumes – particularly those that are well-suited for after-hours use. It’s hardly surprising; ylang ylang is an indolent, sumptuous scent, and considered by some to be an aphrodisiac!

Here are a few fragrances that make great use of this ingredient:

Swiss Musk Eau de Perfume (Unisex), is classic popular MUSK symphony for self-confident personality. It starts with an intensive musk note and fresh elements, turns into flowery and warm elements (Floral ,Geranium, Ylang) and finishes on a sophisticated musk note twisted with woody elements. Truly a mysterious and indulgent scent.

Maysoon Concentrated Perfume Oil (Unisex), represents an arresting, inescapably enchanting, an almost divine form of beauty. It reveals its charm in soft twinkles of radiance, gently hypnotising until you'?re entirely under its spell. The scent is a floral, fruity accord refreshing you with the opening notes of Bergamot Rose and Mandarin Orange. The heart of this fragrance is built around notes of Ylang-Ylang, which culminate into the base notes of Tonkin Musk and Coconut. The fragrance comes bottled in a gorgeous, exotic silvery shell.

Layali Concentrated Perfume Oil (for Her), is an intense fruity floral fragrance which showcases the precious oud in its heart. The opening of dark, juicy plum is complemented by the sheer beauty of orange flowers with its spring like nuances of green floral notes. Musky blackcurrants melt seamlessly into a feminine bouquet of flowers, with soft ylang ylang notes surrendering to roses and creamy jasmine. Into the heart of this dreamy oasis, a drop of gold slowly emerges. Cherished oud spreads its beams like sun rays, bringing warmth and intensity. It fuses with amber and brings its unique richness to the fore, embracing you in heavenly fragrance all day long.

Hayfa Concentrated Perfume Oil (for Her), is an ode to the glamorous, metropolitan modern woman of elegance. This sweet, floral fragrance opens with Green notes, Spices, Rosemary, Lotus, Palm Leaf and Mint. In the heart notes we find Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Ylang-Ylang, Iris and Rose. The base is populated by Woody notes, Sandalwood, Patchouli and Oakmoss.
